Employee dies in forklift-related accident at Appleton company; police, OSHA investigating

UPDATE: Appleton police Thursday confirmed to FOX 11 the "workplace accident" resulted in a death.

According to a statement from a Department of Labor spokesperson, the incident occurred at Progressive Converting ("ProCon") on East Glendale Avenue. The spokesperson stated the Appleton Area OSHA Office has opened an investigation "related to forklift operations."

By law, OSHA has six months to complete its investigation.

APPLETON (WLUK) -- Authorities say there was a "workplace accident" Wednesday in Appleton.

It happened near the 2400 block of Glendale Avenue, near Ballard Road.

No details have been released, but the Appleton Police Department confirmed to FOX 11 they are investigating the incident.

The Appleton Area OSHA Office says it opened an investigation into the matter.

FOX 11's crew on scene reported there was a large presence of emergency personnel, including police, EMS and fire. Crime scene tape was posted in the area.
